The Human Being
Deepak Joshi was born in 1965 in a small village in the state of Gujarat named Jadar. He started as a mere cook at the tender age of eleven to make his family’s ends meet after the sad demise of his father. Over the years he tried and tested waters in several businesses, only to multiply his losses. However, his destiny had something nobler to serve on his platter when he entered the insurance industry. It was the time when insurance agents were always stereotyped and blemished in the market for their plaguy sales methods. In this darkness, as his name suggests, he kindled a lamp (Deepak) illuminating the darkness, bringing hope in the lives of the insurance agent community and the industry at large. He envisaged the day when insurance agents would gain self-esteem, honor, and dignity in this noble profession with a strong belief in the power of insurance products as a solution for life’s investment needs. Out of this dream, IIOE, one of the largest training institutes for insurance professionals emerged and today has become a nationwide movement of sales excellence in the life insurance industry.
He believes God has created everyone with umpteen potential to transform the world, and the IIOE foundation is the first step taken towards this PHILANTHROPIC mission. Providing better SANITATION facilities to the schools in a remote village, adopting children to provide QUALITY EDUCATION, providing FREE AMBULANCE services and RESCUE OPERATION services to flood victims are some of the activities carried out by this foundation.
Apart from serving the insurance agent community, he wishes to spread the benefits of insurance among the common public too. As per the IRDA records the insurance penetration in India was recorded to be 3.7%, which is much lesser compared to the world average of 6.31%. Thus, there is a need to spread insurance awareness among the general public to see the transformation Deepak Joshi envisioned. Not remaining confined to insurance professionals, he took a step further to create INSURANCE AWARENESS among the general public too.
